Hao Chen received his Master's degree in 2015 from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Environmental Engineering. He has been in industry for 6 years, primarily overseeing international environmental engineering projects in the Asian-Pacific region. He joined Clemson University to pursue his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and Earth Science in 2023.
During his research, he examines the environmental impact and economic performance of artificially intelligent manufacturing paradigms (AIM) for composites as well as the environmental impact and economic performance of low-cost agile tools that can be used to manufacture lightweight automotive components using an inverse design methodology.
Hao enjoys mountain climbing, hiking, and playing basketball. His goal is to climb 3 more snow mountains with an elevation over 5000 meters within the next five years.
